Engineering Tomorrow's Cancer Therapies
The Centre is a dynamic partnership between the University's Department of Engineering Science (Professors Constantin Coussios, Robert Carlisle, Robin Cleveland and Eleanor Stride), Department of Oncology (Professors Len Seymour, Katherine Vallis and Nicola Sibson), the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (Professor Terence Rabbitts), and the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (Professor Peter Friend).
Our multi-disciplinary team further comprises 8 post-doctoral researchers from fields ranging from electrical and mechanical engineering to chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacology, as well as two full-time clinical research fellows, a full-time workshop technician and an in vivo experimentation specialist. The team is supplemented by 10 DPhil students based across the Departments of Engineering Science, Oncology, and Surgical Sciences, exploring the numerous interfaces between physical delivery mechanisms and existing and emerging drug classes.
